Senior Golfers Recognized in Inaugural 2026 RBC Cup Competition

 Nearly 100 senior golfers gathered at Mesa Country Club Monday to recognize winners of the 2026 Arizona Seniors Golf Association’s RBC Cup competition. Playing at six Valley courses, members accumulated  points in a fashion similar to the PGA’s FedEx Cup.

Members were placed in three flights based on their handicaps as the season began at Ancala Country Club on December 15, 2025. The competition ended at Mesa Country Club.

The three top winners were Greg Lynn, Flight 1, Scott Voyles, Flight 2, and tied in Flight 3, were Richard Miller and Bob Ostop. Lynn and Voyles each won $1,000 and a claret style RBC Cup trophy. Miller and Ostop split the first-place money.  In settling the tie, Ostop accepted the trophy while Miller graciously donated the cost of ordering a second trophy to the senior’s budget. The four winners were presented with their winnings by Mark G. Dewane and Greg Kraemer of RBC Wealth Management, sponsor of the competition.

AZSGA board members presented the next nine players in each flight with cash amounts from $50 to $ 20 commensurate with their finishing positions.

While RBC and the Arizona Seniors Golf Association were big winners in the Valley golf community for the success of the competition, in the spirit of the organization, generated by its president, Gary Ray, the board of directors strived to make each member a winner. Members not winning in their flights, after completing the required six events, received small cash awards raffle style.
