About the AZSGA

The Arizona Seniors Golf Association (AZSGA) is an organization dedicated to the enjoyment of the game of golf and developing fellowship among those participating in its activities and events. The AZSGA is a non-profit organization which has been in existence for over 60 years. This is the time of year the AZSGA welcomes back current members and seeks new members to join our Association as we prepare for the upcoming season.


AZSGA Membership includes the following benefits:


  • Entry to a professionally organized tournament series at some of the state’s top private and semi-private clubs
  • A new season-long points competition, the RBC Seniors Cup—with $10,000 in total prizes spread over 3 flights
  • Detailed event results and Cup standings on a newly updated, easy-to-navigate website
  • Social events including post-round dinners and an end-of-season awards banquet


Support from local businesses has been a strong point for the AZSGA’s sustained success. Most prominent is the support of the Dewane Wealth Management Group of the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC); the AZSGA’s season-long tournament (RBC Cup) is made possible through their generous support. 


“It’s quite fitting that this compelling idea of a Cup competition coincides with RBC’s slogan, Ideas Happen Here,” said Dewane. “It’s a reminder that fresh ideas often emerge from the passion of the game.” As you know, RBC sponsors the PGA Heritage and Canadian Open events. In addition, the PGA Superstores and PXG are sponsors and provide members with free fittings, discounted pricing and prizes.


The AZSGA prides itself on offering a competitive golf experience intertwined with fun social activities and inclusive membership for golfers of all skill levels. AZSGA members often remark that they value their membership because it is characterized by well organized competitions within an entertaining and stimulating environment. The AZSGA conducts two types of competitions - the aforementioned season-long RBC Cup (participation in the RBC Cup is included at no additional cost beyond the annual membership fee of $115 - includes newly introduced Hole-In-One Insurance $5.00) and the regular season bi-monthly stroke play events which always feature Random Draw 4-Man Best Ball, Net Par 72, Closest to the Pin and Longest Putt games. All AZSGA competitions follow a Stableford Points Scoring System, where players earn points based on their custom AZSGA Handicap Index and performance in each event. A “Member Participation Points” component is also included for those members who demonstrate consistent support participating in AZSGA Events.


Specifics regarding the season-long RBC Cup are:


  • Players compete in one of three flights based on their AZSGA Handicap Index
  • The Cup season includes nine events between December 14, 2026, and April 5, 2027.
  • Members are encouraged to participate in as many of these events as possible; however, members MUST PLAY in a minimum of SIX Events in order to qualify for the RBC Cup.
  • A total cash prize pool of $10,000 is distributed between THREE Flights


AZSGA RBC Cup winners will be recognized at the season-ending dinner at Rio Verde Country Club on April 5, 2027.


The RBC Cup is not the only opportunity for members to be recognized for performance on the course - opportunities for members to collect additional prize money/awards exist at each event for team play, individual net play, closest to the pin, and skins. And, while the vast majority of AZSGA Members register to play in the minimum SIX events necessary to qualify for the RBC Cup, members demonstrating constant regular attendance are able to earn Participation Points applied to their cumulative RBC score ranking.

  • Talking Stick Golf Club – O’odham (Dec. 28, 2026)
  • Camelback Golf Club – Padre (Jan. 11, 2027)
  • Rio Verde Country Club – Quail Run (Jan. 25, 2027)
  • Arrowhead Country Club - Legends (Feb. 8, 2027) – with dinner
  • Briarwood Country Club (Feb. 22, 2027)
  • Corte Bella Golf Club (Mar. 8, 2027) Lunch
  • Foothills Golf Club (Mar. 22, 2027) with dinner
  • Rio Verde Country Club – White Wing (Apr. 5, 2027) – with dinner and awards
  • Scottsdale Country Club (April 19, 2026) Two-Man Scramble Event
